Burger King is located 4 blocks south from Casa Aura, they open everyday from 8am till 10pm and they also have an express service: 2257-7777.

KFC is located 4 blocks south and 2 blocks west of Casa Aura, they do not offer express service.

McDonald's is located just 2 blocks south from Casa Aura, they open everyday from 8am till 10pm and you can order express at any time by calling 2286-0101.

Pizzeria Oteros has 2 restaurants near Casa Aura, you can order express at 2591-8694.

Cafés

Trigo Miel is mainly a confectioner's shop and bakery, but also a café. You can sample their mouth watering creations along with some excellent coffee or tea from Monday to Saturday from 6am till 8pm. They also offer an executive menu from 11:30 am to 12:30pm specializing in local dishes. Their bakery is open as well on Sundays from 7am till 8pm for fresh bread and pastries. It is worth the walk of 4 blocks south and 2 ½ blocks west from Casa Aura!

Tukasa is a small café that offers a wide variety of small dishes. It opens Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 8:45 pm, it is located 4 blocks south and 5 west from Casa Aura, in the Plaza María Isabel Mall. It has a very convenient parking space.

Piccolo is a café and small restaurant whose speciality includes executive menus and a wide range of breakfast options that you can order at any time. They open Monday through Saturday from 9am till 7:30pm and Sundays from noon till 7:30pm. They are located 4 blocks south and a block west from Casa Aura.

Restaurants

Appetit restaurant specializes in Costa Rican dishes and offers a “plat du jour” from Mondays to Saturdays from 8am till 7:30pm. They also have an express service.

El Príncipe is a restaurant specializing in Chinese food but it also serves local and international dishes. It opens everyday from 10:30 am till 10pm and it is located 3 blocks south and 4 blocks west from Casa Aura.

Restaurante Cartago Grill offers Costa Rican dishes and a wide variety of grilled meats. They open Monday through Friday from 11:30am till 8:30pm, and Saturdays & Sundays from 11:30 am till 9:30pm. Cartago Grill is located 3 blocks south and 5 blocks east from Casa Aura. For reservations call 2591-5342.

Entre Printo & Valdemoro restaurant offers a Spanish menu and serves hot chocolate as a speciality. They also have a meeting room and a children's playground. They open everyday from 12:30 noon till midnight. From Casa Aura you need only to walk 3 blocks south and then 4 blocks east.

L'Anfora is an Italian restaurant that boasts crispy wood oven baked pizzas, and delicious pasta. It is located 2 km southeast from Casa Aura. They open Monday through Saturday from 12:30pm to 3pm and from 6pm till midnight. On Sundays they open from noon till midnight.

Café Nova is a stylish café and restaurant with a sushi bar, and Italian and international menus. It offers seven different environments, including an art gallery, and a game room. It opens Monday through Friday from 11:30am till 9pm, Saturdays from 1pm to 9pm and Sundays from 2pm till 5pm. It is located 3 blocks south and 3 blocks east from Casa Aura.

On your way to the Irazú volcano you can stop at Mi Tierra restaurant to sample traditional Costa Rican dishes and an excellent selection of beef and pork specialities. They are open Monday to Thursday from 6am till 9pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 am till 11pm and Sundays from 6:30 am till 7pm.

El Sitio restaurant is also on the way to the Irazú volcano and offers you a placid view of the city of Cartago. They are renowned for their potato dishes like: «papas bravas» and «papas locas.» They open Tuesday to Thursday from 5pm till midnight and Friday to Sunday from 11 am till 1 am. On Thursdays they have live music and there is an admission charge. They are closed on Mondays.

If you decide to visit or find yourself near Cachí we recommend you to make a stop at La Milpa de Cachí, a traditional Costa Rican restaurant with one of the best Gallo Pinto and chorreadas in that area as well as an excellent coffee. They only open Saturday and Sunday from 11 am till 6pm.

Another excellent restaurant in Cachí is La Casona del Cafetal. They offer a salad bar and a buffet of delicious Costa Rican and international main and side dishes, as well as mouth watering desserts. Every Sunday their buffet offers a themed international cuisine bar (Italian, Mexican, Spanish, etc.) They are open everyday from 11am till 6pm.
